THE VOICEBOX PROJECT
Future Cube Plans
Studying people anthropologically means learning about them through observation and interaction. The material we learn about these people from is the anthropologist's written ethnography. That means it's at someone's discretion to teach all other people about these certain peoples through their eyes and experiences. The Voice Box Project allows a scattered society to teach people what their community looks like. The Voice Box is a visual spatial rendering of an ethnography.
We want to use the cube as a tool to research a community anthropologically and visual spatially. For example, if we put a Cube in Wichita Kansas and one simultaneously in Compton California and do a video documentary on the outcome of the Cubes depending upon what a certain society has to say given the chance and freedom to do so. The two cubes would come out completely different; why? We could have 1 cube that represents Colorado and another that represents the USA and why not have each country have their own Voice Box. The cube is cheep and simple which makes it so versatile. We can even make a mini cube for just a high school, or any group that can share in learning about each other through the freedom of expression.
